Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of the Lumen website and, if you become a client, the website service we provide. By using the site or the service, you agree to them.
The service
Lumen designs, builds, and hosts a website for your business and keeps it maintained while your plan is active. Your plan is billed monthly, has no long-term contract, and you can cancel anytime. Billing is handled by Stripe, and you can manage or cancel from the billing portal we give you.
What is included
- Your website, hosting, security, and an SSL certificate.
- Ongoing edits and updates while your plan is active. We aim to turn most changes around quickly.
- The content we publish comes from your public business information and anything you provide. We do not publish fake reviews, fabricated credentials, or claims we cannot verify with you.
Previews
Before you sign up, we may build a free preview using your business's public information and Google reviews. A preview is not live and is clearly marked as a preview. If you would like it taken down, tell us and we will remove it.
Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate information, and make sure anything you ask us to publish is truthful and yours to use.
- Keep your billing current so the site stays online.
Domains and ownership
We can point the site to a domain you own, or help you set one up. If we register or manage a domain on your behalf, we will transfer it to you on request in line with what we agreed. The website design and build remain licensed to you for as long as your plan is active.
If a payment fails
If a payment fails, we will try again and let you know. If the plan stays unpaid, the site may be paused until it is resolved. We do not delete your content right away.
No guarantee of rankings
We build your site to be found and recommended by search engines and AI assistants, and we follow current best practices. We cannot and do not guarantee a specific ranking, placement, or result, because those are decided by third parties we do not control.
Liability
We provide the service with reasonable care. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we do, we will change the date above and post the new version here.
